Brief:
Located in Leith, near the iconic Cable Wynd House residential block, this project integrates civic spaces with elderly living accommodations to create a vibrant community hub. The program is specifically designed with the upper floors dedicated to elderly apartments suitable for residents who are still capable of self-care, providing them with comfortable, accessible living spaces. On the ground floor, the hub features a variety of civic amenities including a café, a workspace, and a rehabilitation gym, each designed to foster community interaction and personal well-being.
The exterior of the building is transformed into semi-private gardens that include children’s play facilities, enhancing the outdoor experience for all ages and promoting a family-friendly environment. Additionally, the project includes a thoughtfully designed ramp that improves accessibility for residents of Cable Wynd House, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the facilities without barriers.
