My screen-printed textiles collection, ‘House in Bloom’, born from a blend of inspirations, pays homage to the free-spirited decor of Charleston House and vibrant life in Brazil. These two points of inspiration make up 2 collections, ‘Threads of Brazil’ and ‘Textiles in Full Bloom’. Colour, a ubiquitous presence in daily life, forms the cornerstone of my collections, celebrating the sheer joy found in its myriad of shades.

Drawing from the exuberance of Brazilian florals ‘Threads of Brazil’ celebrates this source of inspiration that has been ingrained in me since childhood. Growing up hearing the stories of vibrant life in Brazil from my grandparents and dad has informed my choice to celebrate this within my textiles provoking an exploration into research and drawing florals. My collection inspires feelings of joy, life and colour, pivotal to the nature of Brazil.

Informed by the recent shift towards prioritising personal happiness over fleeting trends, my designs invite exploration and self-expression within one’s home through colour and pattern. ‘Textiles in full Bloom’ is a collection inspired by the uninhibited creativity of the Bloomsbury Group. Charleston house has been a constant source of inspiration for me. The euphoric sense of colour, history and expression is all consuming. This has been echoed within my collection where each has been drawn with chalks and crayons to emulate the types of medium that were used by the group. Each textile piece exudes a sense of freedom and enjoyment, screen printing the texture onto the fabric, mirroring the eclectic charm of Charleston House. The collection is versatile, suitable for both upholstery and curtain applications, offering the opportunity for large-scale prints to make a statement in interior design schemes.
