Design: Liforia, aim to redefine our attitudes towards death, transforming it from a taboo and silence into a stage of life worth celebrating by collecting sound and physical memories. By integrating sound, light, and touch, guiding terminal patient and families through end-of-life, death, and mourning by providing a dignified, and meaningful journey by Liforia memorial cards.The device includes a personal sound device and a corporate sound device for recording sounds and fingermarks, holding them both as a sphere by a physical memorials container. fostering family connections and capturing collective memories and individual wishes.
Introduction: In an age where design profoundly influences our way of living, there is an uncharted territory coming to us – How we die. Daisy believes in honouring every stage of life. She is fascinated in design that not only enhance life, but also providing a graceful conclusion to it.
Fact: Professor Michael cholbi points out that for many people, dying has become a highly medical process making people feel detached from the rest of life , helpless and out of control.
Necessity of Design: In the 21 century, we are looking for new ways, focusing not just on the medical side, but also emotionally and psychologically. Therefor, Hospice come to the fore front, it focusing on dignity, respect and fulfilling individual’s wishes. Ensuring they are heard and understood. It‘s time for designers to get involved—to be ahead of this change. Liforia is more than just a product; it is a movement aimed at challenging the way we understand and experience the end of life
